In 1991, beauvais completed an artistically very successful diarist film on the Soviet union, We’ve Got the Red Blues, which mixes travelling footage shot on a trip to Moscow and Riga In October 1990 with repeating visual quotations from Eisenstein’s <October> and Dziga Vertov’s <The Man with a Movie Camera>.
