Yet another entry in the "Play for Today" series.
Quoting imdb, a "slice-of-life look at class divisions among employees of a brokerage house." Indeed, this is one of the few efforts where, in addition to his familiar exploration of various blue collar themes, Leigh tackles the upper class directly, the most comparable other example being High Hopes.
This came out before the near-perfect Grown-Ups (1980), and is generally considered a "lesser" work, but it's actually refreshingly odd and over-the-top by Leigh standards. It's very funny, and features several very memorable and comic characters. Certainly a must-see for Leigh completists, fans of Phil Davis et. al.
