“群山染赤”这个译名很贴切英文名，尽管内容上属于典型的意粉西部片范畴，但是开场的追逐戏和最后的对决戏，在气氛营造情节推动和摄影角度上，都很有古龙风格的武侠味道，亮点很多；另外，莫里康奈的配乐也令影片增色不少。
